A teenage girl was killed and another was injured after a truck struck the bicycle they were riding in New York City’s East Village.
The crash happened Friday afternoon near East 10th Street and Avenue D, according to authorities. The two girls were riding together when they were hit by the truck, sending both of them into the roadway.
One of the teenagers, 15, suffered fatal injuries in the collision. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The second girl was also taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition was not immediately clear.
