BTS Kick Off Record-Breaking “ARIRANG” World Tour With Massive Goyang Stadium Shows

Global K-pop supergroup BTS has officially launched its highly anticipated “ARIRANG” World Tour in Goyang, marking the group’s powerful return to the global stage after completing mandatory military service. The opening concerts began April 9 with three sold-out nights that drew fans from around the world.

The tour supports BTS’s latest studio album ARIRANG, released in March 2026. The album achieved major success internationally, topping the Billboard 200 for two consecutive weeks — a milestone achievement for a K-pop act. Meanwhile, its lead single “Swim” debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, highlighting the group’s continued global influence.

According to reports, the ARIRANG World Tour is expected to become the largest tour in BTS’s career. It will span approximately 85 concerts across 34 cities worldwide, including stops in Japan, North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia. Additional dates in Japan and the Middle East are also being planned.

All initial concert dates — including the opening shows in Goyang and several major stops overseas — sold out rapidly during presale and general ticket releases, reflecting extraordinary global demand. Industry analysts estimate the tour could generate as much as 2.7 trillion won (about $1.81 billion) in revenue, excluding additional fan spending on travel and merchandise.

One of the tour’s most distinctive features is its 360-degree stage design, allowing audiences to experience performances from every angle and creating a more immersive concert environment. Members described this format as both a creative challenge and a highlight of the production.

The concerts also carry special emotional meaning for fans. The tour marks BTS’s first full-group performances together after nearly four years, following the members’ completion of South Korea’s mandatory military service in 2025. Fans from countries including the United States, Brazil, and Russia traveled to Korea to witness the historic opening shows in person.

With stadiums already sold out and global anticipation continuing to rise, BTS’s ARIRANG World Tour is shaping up to be one of the biggest music events of the decade — reaffirming the group’s position as one of the world’s most influential artists.
