Spring has officially arrived in Seoul, and one of the city’s most famous seasonal events is already welcoming visitors earlier than many expected. The Yeongdeungpo Yeouido Spring Flower Festival is taking place from April 3 to April 7, 2026, along Yeouiseo-ro behind the National Assembly building in Yeouido, one of the capital’s most popular cherry blossom viewing areas.

Held annually in western Seoul’s Yeongdeungpo District, the festival celebrates the peak blooming season of the city’s iconic cherry blossom trees. The event features approximately 1,800 cherry trees forming a scenic 1.7-kilometer blossom tunnel, attracting both locals and international visitors each spring.
This year’s festival runs daily from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m., allowing visitors to enjoy both daytime walks under pink blossoms and evening light displays after sunset. Cultural programs, food zones, and interactive activities are also scheduled throughout the event period to create a full spring experience beyond flower viewing alone.

The festival location behind the National Assembly building is especially popular because it offers one of Seoul’s most recognizable cherry blossom streets. Visitors can walk along Yeouiseo-ro while enjoying views of the Han River nearby, making it one of the most photographed spring destinations in the city.

In addition to the blossoms themselves, the event includes performances, cultural exhibitions, and food booths designed to create a lively festival atmosphere. Organizers describe the event as a “spring garden for everyone,” emphasizing accessibility for families, tourists, and office workers visiting after work hours.
Because the festival attracts large crowds every year, transportation officials recommend arriving early in the day or using the subway instead of driving, as nearby parking areas fill quickly during peak bloom season.

With cherry blossoms expected to reach peak viewing conditions in early April depending on weather patterns, the Yeouido festival remains one of the best places in Seoul to experience the city’s famous spring scenery. Whether visitors are planning a picnic, photography trip, or evening walk along the river, the festival offers a memorable way to enjoy the short but beautiful cherry blossom season.
