The creators behind KPop Demon Hunters have confirmed that its upcoming sequel will expand significantly in scale and storytelling, raising expectations among global fans of the hit animated franchise.
Speaking during a press conference in Seoul on April 1, 2026, co-directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans shared early insights into their vision for KPop Demon Hunters 2. While specific plot details remain undisclosed, Kang stated that the production team is “holding onto some big ideas” and intends to create a sequel that is “even bigger in scale and more eventful than the first one.”
The original film follows the story of Rumi, Mira and Zoey—members of the fictional K-pop girl group Huntrix—who secretly protect the world from evil spirits while maintaining their celebrity identities.
