The Seoul Metropolitan Government has officially introduced 175 spring flower routes stretching across 251 kilometers throughout the city, offering residents and visitors new opportunities to enjoy seasonal blossoms close to home. Branded as “Seoul Spring Flower Paths,” the initiative highlights scenic walking areas designed to showcase the capital’s vibrant spring landscape and improve access to nature across urban neighborhoods.

The selected routes are divided into four categories to make exploration easier: 74 urban street paths, 55 park paths, 37 waterway paths, and 9 neighborhood greenway paths. Each category reflects a different way to experience the season—from tree-lined city boulevards to riverside walks and quiet community trails. The goal is to ensure that people can enjoy spring flowers without traveling far from their daily surroundings.
Among the featured highlights are the famous cherry blossom boulevard along Yeouido Dong-Seo-ro, the bright yellow forsythia-covered slopes of Eungbongsan, the lakeside scenery at Songnaru Park near Seokchon Lake, and the relaxing embankment paths along Anyang Stream. These locations represent some of the capital’s most recognizable seasonal viewing spots and attract thousands of visitors each year during peak bloom periods.

According to weather forecasts, forsythia and azaleas are expected to bloom in late March, while cherry blossoms are predicted to reach full bloom around April 10, making early April one of the best times to explore these routes. In addition to familiar blossoms such as cherry trees and royal azaleas, the city has also incorporated plant species from its “Seoul’s 400 Attractive Plants” list to diversify the seasonal experience across neighborhoods.

To support the initiative, the city added 424 new gardens this year, bringing the total number of designated Attractive Gardens and Companion Gardens to approximately 1,500 locations citywide. Visitors can explore all 175 flower paths through the official Story in Seoul webpage and the Smart Seoul Map, where the routes are featured as part of the platform’s Top 10 city life map category throughout April.
With hundreds of kilometers of flower-lined streets, parks, and riverside trails now mapped across the capital, Seoul’s spring walking network offers an accessible way to experience one of the city’s most beautiful seasons.
