Go Youn-jung wraps herself in a blanket at Chanel's Paris show and the internet cannot decide how to feel

A short video clip from Paris Fashion Week has divided K-pop and K-drama fans online, and the subject of all the debate is a blanket.

Go Youn-jung, actress and global ambassador for Chanel, attended the brand's 2026-2027 fall-winter collection show in Paris earlier this month. The show itself was uneventful. What happened on her way out was not.

Footage that has since approached 750,000 views across social media shows Go leaving the venue in a white-tone Chanel tweed two-piece, with a blanket draped over her short skirt as she walked out with assistance from a security guard. Staff members can be seen asking her to remove it. She hesitates briefly, appearing to say something along the lines of "It's cold," before taking the blanket off and continuing down the stairs. The guard reportedly tried to shield her from cameras during the moment.

It is exactly the kind of small, unscripted clip that spreads fast online, and the reaction split almost immediately into two camps.

One side found it entirely charming. Comments called the moment cute and relatable, with viewers saying they appreciated seeing a celebrity act like a real person who gets cold and does not want to expose her legs in a Paris venue in winter. The security guard earned separate praise for his instinct to protect her.

The other side took a harder line. Go is a Chanel global ambassador, they argued, and attending a runway show is part of her professional role for the brand. Covering a designer outfit with a blanket while exiting a Chanel promotional event, some felt, was a lapse in judgment that a brand representative should avoid.

Neither reaction is entirely wrong, which is probably why the clip kept circulating.

Go Youn-jung has had a strong run recently. She starred opposite Kim Seon-ho in the Netflix series "Can This Love Be Translated?" and is currently appearing on the MBC variety program "Manitto Club." Her Chanel ambassadorship has kept her visible on the international fashion circuit, making her one of the more prominent Korean actresses on the brand circuit right now.

The blanket incident is unlikely to affect any of that. What it does do is add a small, very human moment to a public image that is otherwise polished and controlled — which, for many fans, appears to be exactly the point.
