Kim Ga-ram launches YouTube channel four years after leaving LE SSERAFIM, hints at acting career

Four years is a long time to stay quiet. Kim Ga-ram just ended the silence.

The former LE SSERAFIM member launched a personal YouTube channel called "garamonly" on March 13, uploading her first video with just the title "ep. 01" and no description. Simple as it was, the video picked up 36,000 views within two hours. By the evening, the channel had crossed 20,000 subscribers.

In the video, Kim explains why she turned the camera on. She wanted to document her acting practice sessions and bits of her daily life. The clip shows her rehearsing in a practice room, reviewing her own footage at home, studying in a library, attending acting classes, and at one point, playing guitar. No big announcement, no dramatic comeback statement. Just someone quietly getting to work.

The timing has people paying attention. Kim enrolled in the media acting department at Konkuk University, and the YouTube channel appears to be a natural extension of that. The acting focus in the video, combined with the university studies, points fairly clearly toward where she's headed next.

For those who remember how her K-pop career ended, the context matters. Kim debuted with LE SSERAFIM in May 2022 as part of the group's original lineup. Within days of the debut, allegations of school bullying surfaced online. Source Music initially denied the claims and stated that Kim had actually been a victim in those situations. But as more material emerged, including photos and documents tied to a school disciplinary case, the controversy grew. Kim paused activities 19 days after debuting and left the group roughly two months later. Her contract with Source Music was terminated.

She stayed largely out of the public eye after that. In 2025, she opened a personal social media account and began posting again, reconnecting with fans at a low key pace.

The YouTube channel feels like the next step in that gradual return. She is not announcing a project or making headlines through an agency statement. She is just showing up on screen, practicing her craft, and letting people watch.

Whether that leads to an acting debut or something else, the response to "ep. 01" suggests there are plenty of people ready to watch whatever comes next.
