Police in Arizona are treating the disappearance of Nancy Guthie as a possible kidnapping or abduction instead of a simple missing persons case.

Authorities were quick to jump in and move the investigation towards a criminal inquiry after discovering that the circumstances at her residence were inconsistent with her leaving voluntarily, and they started to treat the residence as a crime scene.
Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos mentioned how investigators believe Nancy might not have walked out of her residence on her own due to her limited physical mobility. This includes the fact that she requires daily medication, which she did not have with her.
Therefore, they predict that she was snatched from her bed in the middle of the night, which would hint at a possible kidnapping or abduction.
