President Donald Trump has threatened to impose tariffs on all EU members who fail to support his decision to annex Greenland and make it the country's 51st state.
The news has sparked widespread criticism and backlash across the board, as an emergency meeting was called in by the EU members to figure out the next step.
Countries such as France, Germany, and more that are part of the NATO alliance have sent their troops to Greenland and suggested the US stop threatening Greenland, which belongs to Denmark.
Now, leaders are telling Trump that his irrational behavior would not intimidate them or make them take a step back from defending Greenland from American forces.
The EU has also decided to halt the US trade deal to show its opposition to Trump's behavior.
The deal was negotiated by the EU and Trump last year, which was designed to cut many barriers and lower tariffs between the two economic blocs, but it still needs a vote by the European Parliament.
Now, pivotal political groups in the EU have stated that they can't support the agreement while Washington continues to threaten new duties on nations siding with Europe over the Greenland dispute.
