Trump threatens to use tariffs to force Greenland annexation

Trump has chosen to escalate his controversial push to annex the giant island nation of Greenland.

The US president issued a bold statement to the press where he directly threatening to roll out huge trade tariffs on those nations that don't support his plan to make the country a part of the USA as its 51st state.

Trump shared how the US needs the country, no matter what, and before other nations like China or Russia capture it, he's going to bring it under US ownership.

Speaking during a recent White House event, Trump mentioned how using tariffs as leverage against different countries that oppose America's Greenland ambitions could be on the cards.

He added how the Arctic island was pivotal for America's national security.

The news comes after Danish officials repeated how Greenland's future is for the people of Greenland and Denmark to decide, telling Trump to lay off his threats.
