Countrywide protests inside Iran have reached their third week, and hundreds have been killed, with the death rate expected to soar further.
Sources called the unrest one of the worst waves of violence in years, with human rights groups confirming that the current death toll is above 500 people.
The news comes as security forces crack down on demonstrators, and activists are now tracking down the situation from inside and outside the country.
The clashes between citizens and security forces continue as we speak, and more than 10,000 people have been arrested. The government has yet to release the official casualty figures and has imposed a complete internet shutdown, severely restricting all forms of communication.
These protests started in the latter part of December in reply to the growing amounts of economic hardship including a steep fall in the rial and rising inflation.
They have chosen to rapidly expand into bigger demands for a political change and open criticism of the nation's leadership.
