US President Trump has just told airlines to consider the airspace of Venezuela as shut after he vowed to take action on the land very soon.
This news comes following a huge number of strikes against the alleged drug-carrying boats in the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean that have ended up killing more than 80 people since September.
Trump went on to suggest that the military service members would soon be taking part in a military operation this month when speaking to them on the phone at a Thanksgiving Day event.
On Saturday, he urged that clearing the airspace near the South American nation was necessary and also revealed that attacks by land were on the cards.
‘To all the Airlines, Pilots, Drug Dealers, and Human Traffickers, please do consider THE AIRSPACE ABOVE AND SURROUNDING VENEZUELA TO BE CLOSED IN ITS ENTIRETY, he added.
Over the weekend, the FAA also shared how the airlines wished to exercise caution when flying over Venezuela due to the worst security situation and heightened security activity.
Several airlines ended up canceling their flights as a result of this stern warning from the FAA
For months, the US has been working hard to try and build a military presence in the region to try and combat narco-terrorists. It has also made it clear that they want to oust the Venezuelan President.
