A massive political confrontation has taken center stage in the US as Republicans in the House of Representatives were seen escalating their investigation into the late financier Jeffrey Epstein by targeting former president Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
The House Oversight Committee, which was led by the Republican chair, has subpoenaed both Clintons to testify under oath about past links and any important data linked to Epstein's criminal network.
This stems from longstanding queries related to Epstein's connections to powerful people and the government's handling of the activities before his death.
Bill and Hillary Clinton have refused to comply with the committee's demands and characterised the subpoenas as not valid legally. They also called them out as politically motivated.
In recent public statements, they mentioned how they've already given the limited data they had and slammed the committee's approach of dragging them into a matter that they have no connection to.
