Tragic details are arriving regarding the death of a popular soap star who passed away after an overdose of alcohol.
The star was known for her role in the popular television drama series called Cranberry Sorbet.
Turkish actress Ece Irtem was only 35 at the time of her death and was said to be celebrating her big day with her close family and friends. Reports shared at the start spoke about how she suffered from a sudden heart attack. An extensive investigation was then carried out by the Forensic Medicine team, which shared that she passed away from ethyl alcohol poisoning.
A post-mortem examination did find nearly 395 mg of alcohol per deciliter of blood inside her system, which is nearly eight times the legal drinking-driving limit in Turkey. Moreover, medical experts concluded that this exceptionally high concentration of alcohol mixed fatally with her prescribed antidepressant and anti-anxiety medications was what caused her death. More investigations are taking place as her loved ones mourn this tragic loss.
