Mississippi gunmaker, wife shot dead by relative in murder-s*icide over land dispute

A gunmaker and his partner were both murdered inside their own residence after a family dispute over land turned into a bloody affair.

Walter Earnest Birdsong, who is the owner of WE Birdsong and Associates, was found dead alongside his partner, Amanda Lynn Birdsong.

Their suspected killer was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, locked inside a bathroom on the property in Florence, Mississippi.

Reports suggested that Kurt had filed a lawsuit against Walter and two more relatives in 2019, where he alleged that they had transferred a 14-acre plot of land to a third party without his consent.

He shared more about how his dad had promised him the land before his death in 2015. Courts ruled against Kurt over a lack of a written contract.

Police were seen rushing to the property on Monterey Road after getting a frantic 911 call on Friday afternoon saying that two people were shot.
