Investigators were seen ending the search for Kristin Smart's remains at the residence of her killer's mother on Saturday without finding any of her remains, a day after the Sheriff's office mentioned that soil testing detected the presence of human remains.
San Luis Obispo County sheriff's deputies, joined by soil scientists and ground radar experts and armed with a search warrant, have been at the Arroyo Grande home of Susan Flores since Wednesday.
Investigators are now trying to determine if the convicted killer, Paul Flores, concealed his victim's remains at the residence after killing her nearly three decades ago.
'We did not recover Kristin Smart'- the Sheriff's office mentioned in a statement on Saturday after the search in the 500 block of East Branch Street ended.
Detectives would be evaluating any kind of evidence they find to help with the investigation and finally put a closure to the case.
