Britney Spears Officially Charged With DUI After Checking Herself Into Rehab — As Troubled Singer Faces 'Possible Jail Time'

Singer Britney Spears has been officially charged with DUI, as confirmed by local media outlets.

The news comes nearly two months after she got arrested in Ventura County, California.

The leading pop star was busted on March 4, and soon after, she checked into a rehab center where she was said to be struggling with the side effects of getting cold feet. As confirmed by the press, she was pulled off the California highway last month after driving erratically and putting others, as well as her life, at risk.

Her rep called the matter a very unfortunate incident and also slammed it as very inexcusable.

She vowed that Spears was going to be working on herself after this and hopes to turn her life around for the better. The star is expected to appear in court on May 4 and could face possible jail time.
