Pepsi withdraws Wireless Festival sponsorship after Kanye West named headliner

The primary sponsors of Wireless have chosen to end their partnerships with the festival amid growing controversy over headliner Kanye West.

This comes after UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer labeled the choice to feature West at the Finsbury Park music event as deeply concerning in light of his antisemitic conduct.

The leader added that everyone involved had the responsibility of making sure the country is in a place where Jews feel safe.

Within just a few hours of his remarks, a rep from Pepsi was seen speaking about how the brand has chosen to take a step back and withdraw sponsorship of the Wireless Festival.

This booking signals how the rapper's comeback to the UK music scene following his 11-year hiatus is now a major deal. His last major performance in the UK was in the year 2015.

This is when he faced serious condemnation in recent times after expressing admiration for Hitler and making several types of antisemitic statements.
