‘Reacher’ star Alan Ritchson and wife Catherine announce split after 20 years of marriage

Alan Ritchson and his wife, Catherine Ritchson, have announced that they are ending their 20-year marriage.

The couple shared a joint statement on September 12, saying they had decided to end their marriage while emphasizing that they still have deep love and respect for one another. They also said their three sons remain their priority as they move forward separately.

Alan and Catherine first met in high school and later reconnected while attending college. They married on May 12, 2006, and went on to raise three sons together. Throughout their marriage, they generally kept their relationship and family life relatively private.

The announcement follows a difficult period for the couple. Alan filed for divorce in December, but the pair briefly reconciled in March before ultimately deciding that ending the marriage was the right step.

In their statement, the couple reflected on the years they spent together, describing their marriage as a cherished part of their lives. They said they had “grown up together” and expressed their intention to remain close as they co-parent their children.

Ritchson has become widely known for his work in television and film, including his leading role in the Reacher series. He is also starring in the upcoming action comedy Runner.

The couple has asked for privacy as they adjust to the change, particularly for the sake of their children.

After two decades together, the announcement marks the end of a long marriage, although both Alan and Catherine have made clear that their family relationship will continue.
