King Charles is said to be hopeful that Prince Harry's unexpected return to the UK could finally pave the way toward healing his broken relationship with brother Prince William. With Harry, 41, set to spend an extended period back in Britain, the 77-year-old King reportedly views the move as a rare chance to bring his sons closer together.
"He will want to see his sons together over time," a source close to the royal household revealed. "This is the best opportunity we have seen in recent years."
The update comes after Charles and Harry appeared to make quiet progress in their own strained bond. The father and son privately reunited at Highgrove in July, where the King saw his grandchildren, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5, for the first time in over four years. One royal ally called the reunion "a real positive," while another insider added, "The King would love to have Harry around."
Charles has long expressed a desire for peace between his sons. In Harry's 2023 memoir, "Spare," the Duke of Sussex recalled his father pleading with him and William after Prince Philip's funeral in 2021, begging, "Please, boys, don't make my final years a misery."
Despite the King's hopes, a reunion between the brothers may still be far off. Multiple sources say Harry and William, 44, remain in "no contact," and that William and his wife, Princess Kate, still feel deeply hurt by years of public revelations from the Sussexes.
