Erling Haaland has surprised fans with a dramatic new look after saying goodbye to his signature long blonde hair. The Manchester City and Norway striker, 26, revealed a fresh buzzcut in a video shared on Instagram on Aug. 23.

In the clip, Haaland is seen sitting in a barber’s chair with his long hair flowing past his shoulders before covering the camera and revealing his new close-cropped style. “New season, new trim,” he wrote alongside the transformation.

Haaland had become especially recognizable for his long locks during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where his hairstyle attracted plenty of attention. He had previously indicated that he planned to keep the look until after the tournament.

During the haircut session, he also shared selfies showing himself with shorter bangs before going for the full buzzcut, jokingly captioning one post, “Short hair don’t care.” The dramatic change comes as Haaland prepares for a new season with Manchester City, giving the football star a noticeably different appearance heading into the campaign.
