Anna Faris Says She Has Tense Conversations With Her 14-Year-Old Son Jack About Religion and Tries to Challenge His Beliefs

Anna Faris is opening up about the thoughtful and sometimes challenging conversations she has with her teenage son, Jack.

The actress, 49, recently discussed her relationship with her 14-year-old during an appearance on Chelsea Handler’s “Dear Chelsea” podcast. Faris revealed that Jack has become religious, despite her saying that she did not grow up with religion herself.

According to Faris, her son has even asked her to accept Jesus Christ as her savior. Rather than dismissing his beliefs, she said she has been willing to have long conversations with him about faith and their differing perspectives.

Faris explained that she told Jack she would do anything for him, including considering what he was asking, but added that such a decision would require “a whole lot of long conversations.”

The actress also acknowledged that their discussions can become tense because she sometimes challenges ideas associated with the more conservative beliefs he has encountered through religion.

Her comments highlight a familiar challenge for many parents: navigating differences in beliefs with a growing child while maintaining an open and respectful relationship.

Rather than presenting their differences as a permanent conflict, Faris described an ongoing dialogue in which she asks questions and encourages her son to think about his views.

As Jack continues to develop his own beliefs during his teenage years, Faris appears focused on keeping communication open, even when their perspectives do not necessarily align.

The actress's comments offer a glimpse into the private conversations that can emerge as children develop independent identities and beliefs.
