Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan's VERY green grass stands out next to the dry surroundings during record-breaking drought

Mark Wright and Michelle Keegan's Essex mansion has attracted attention after images showed its remarkably green and well-maintained grounds contrasting sharply with the dry surroundings during a record-breaking period of hot weather.

The couple's five-bedroom property, which they bought for £1.3 million in 2019 and later transformed, features extensive landscaped gardens and an outdoor swimming pool with an Ibiza-inspired design.

The striking appearance of the lawn comes as a hosepipe ban has been introduced in the area following months of unusually dry weather and declining water reserves. Essex and Suffolk Water announced the temporary restrictions as demand for water increased during the hot spell.

The Environment Agency has declared a drought across almost three-quarters of England, including Essex. The declaration followed exceptionally dry conditions, reduced river flows, depleted groundwater and continuing high temperatures.

Under the restrictions, residents are generally prohibited from using hosepipes, sprinklers and automatic irrigation systems to water gardens and lawns, as well as for activities such as washing cars and patios or filling swimming pools.

However, there is no evidence that Wright and Keegan have breached the restrictions. The article notes that alternative methods, such as watering cans, can be used in some circumstances, and exemptions may also apply.

The couple's property has previously attracted public interest because of its extensive renovations and landscaped grounds.

As questions arise over how the lawn has remained so vibrant, the couple's representatives have been contacted for comment.
