Rod Stewart Reveals He Has Undergone Heart Surgery
Rod Stewart has revealed that he recently underwent heart surgery and will take four weeks away from performing as he recovers.
The 81-year-old rock star had been forced to cancel several shows after experiencing an unspecified medical issue, leaving fans concerned about his health. His representatives have now confirmed that Stewart underwent what they described as a “routine coronary stent procedure.”

The procedure is used to help open a narrowed or blocked heart artery. According to Stewart’s representatives, doctors are pleased with his recovery and the singer has already returned to his normal daily activities.
However, on medical advice, Stewart will spend the next four weeks recuperating and regaining his strength before returning to the stage. As a result, several upcoming tour dates will not go ahead as originally planned.
Stewart also addressed his fans directly, saying he is already feeling better and is “very much on the mend.” He thanked the doctors, nurses and everyone involved in his care, while admitting that he was disappointed to miss his scheduled performances.
The singer also apologized to fans for letting them down and said he was looking forward to getting back on stage and performing again.
The latest health setback comes after Stewart cancelled a number of performances earlier this year. His August 9 concert in Cincinnati had also been called off after organizers announced that he needed to undergo an “unforeseen but minor medical procedure.”
Despite the cancellations, Stewart’s representatives say he is recovering well. Fans will now have to wait for further updates regarding his rescheduled performances.
