Brad Pitt Reveals He’s No Longer Sober After 7-Year Stretch, Drinks in a ‘More Restrained Manner’ Now

Brad Pitt has revealed that he is no longer completely sober after maintaining seven years without alcohol.

The 62-year-old actor opened up about the change in a new interview with Esquire, explaining that he has returned to drinking but now approaches it in a much more limited way. Pitt said he had been sober for seven years before getting “back off the wagon,” adding that he now drinks in a “more restrained manner.”

Pitt previously became open about his struggles with alcohol following the end of his marriage to Angelina Jolie. He had described drinking as something that had become excessive in his life and later sought support through Alcoholics Anonymous, where he spent significant time working through his problems.

In his latest interview, Pitt acknowledged that he had become overconfident about his ability to drink moderately on a couple of occasions. He said he has learned that large quantities of alcohol are not good for him and that he needs to remain disciplined.

The actor has previously credited people in his recovery journey, including Bradley Cooper, who Pitt said helped him get sober. His decision to speak openly about his experiences has made his latest admission particularly notable.

Pitt's comments do not necessarily mean a return to his previous drinking habits. Instead, he described trying to maintain strict limits and remain aware of his boundaries.

His candid admission has sparked discussion among fans about addiction, recovery and whether someone who has struggled with alcohol can safely return to drinking in moderation.
