Jill Biden Says She No Longer Expects to See a Woman President in Her Lifetime

Former First Lady Jill Biden has shared her disappointment about the future of women in American politics, saying she no longer believes she will see a woman elected president during her lifetime.

Speaking on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera podcast, the 75-year-old reflected on the 2024 U.S. presidential election and admitted she had been convinced that Kamala Harris would make history by becoming the nation's first female president.

"I really did think last time that Kamala was going to win," Biden said, recalling the excitement she witnessed while campaigning for Harris. She described seeing enthusiastic crowds, high energy at campaign events, and a strong sense that the country was ready for a historic milestone.

However, Biden said she was shocked when Harris lost the election, explaining that she woke up the following morning expecting a different outcome.

Although she expressed doubt about witnessing a female president herself, Biden said she still hopes future generations will see that milestone achieved. Her comments come as several prominent Democratic women, including Kamala Harris, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, and Gretchen Whitmer, continue to be discussed as possible contenders for the 2028 presidential election.

Harris has not officially announced another presidential campaign but has indicated she remains committed to public service and has not ruled out another White House run.

Jill Biden's remarks have sparked fresh conversations about women's representation in American politics, with many supporters expressing hope that the United States will eventually elect its first female president despite recent setbacks.
