The retirement of King Charles III's longtime private secretary, Sir Clive Alderton, has sparked fresh discussion about whether Prince Harry could eventually rebuild his relationship with the Royal Family. Sir Clive, who served the King for more than two decades, played a key role in major royal events, including Queen Elizabeth II's funeral and King Charles's coronation.

Some royal commentators believe his departure may remove one barrier to communication between Harry and the Palace. The Duke of Sussex reportedly had a difficult relationship with Sir Clive, whom he once referred to as "The Wasp."
However, royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams believes the situation is far more complicated. According to him, the biggest challenge to any reconciliation is not the retirement of a royal aide but the strained relationship between Prince Harry and his brother, Prince William.

Fitzwilliams explained that King Charles is unlikely to take significant steps toward repairing ties with Harry without William's support. He argued that maintaining unity between the King and the future monarch remains the monarchy's highest priority.

The comments come shortly after reports of renewed contact between Prince Harry and King Charles, fueling speculation that relations may slowly be improving. Even so, experts suggest that rebuilding trust within the Royal Family will take much more than a staffing change at Buckingham Palace.
For now, while Sir Clive Alderton's retirement marks the end of an important chapter behind palace walls, it does not necessarily signal Prince Harry's return to royal duties. The future of any reconciliation will likely depend on deeper family relationships rather than changes in palace person.
