England Captain Harry Kane Opens Up on 'Surreal' Round of Golf With Donald Trump - and Returns Compliment to US President After 'Great Player' Flattery

Harry Kane has confirmed he played a round of golf with US President Donald Trump, describing it as "pretty surreal." The England captain said the game took place 18 months ago in Palm Beach, Florida, after Trump invited him during a visit to the area.

Kane spoke about the round ahead of England's World Cup quarter-final against Norway on Saturday, a match that comes on the back of the Three Lions' 3-2 win over Mexico in the round of 16, where Kane scored the winning penalty. Trump had praised Kane publicly earlier in the week, posting on social media that he is "a GREAT player" and later telling reporters he considers him a good golfer too.

Kane returned the compliment, saying Trump's golf game is impressive for someone his age and that he hopes to play as well when he reaches 80. He added that he was grateful for the invitation and called it a unique experience to meet the president.

Kane also mentioned that David Beckham had reached out to wish the England squad luck as they trained at Inter Miami's Fort Lauderdale facility on Friday. Kane said Beckham messages him after most games and was there to offer support, calling him "an England legend."

England will look to build on their round-of-16 win when they face Norway in Saturday's quarter-final.
