It wasn't just the N-word, I also called BAFTAs host Alan Cumming a 'p*edophile', says John Davidson as he admits he felt a 'wave of shame' before leaving ceremony

Tourette Syndrome advocate, John Davidson, is speaking out after he yelled a racial slur while Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo were busy presenting at this year's BAFTA Awards.

Many were stunned at how casually he took up the matter, sparking outrage across the board. Davidson, who first started to experience symptoms of the motor neurone disease, was seen addressing the incident in a statement shared with Variety.

"I wanted to thank BAFTA and all those involved in these awards last night for the incredible support and understanding and for inviting me to attend the broadcast," he shared.

He also mentioned how much he appreciated the announcement to the auditorium in advance of the recording, warning everyone that his tics are involuntary and are never a reflection of his true personal beliefs. But the statement had people questioning why he indeed chose to use that term for a black male presenter.

He further tried to justify his actions by mentioning that there was a host of other people who were given certain names by him, but again, he never meant it, and neither did they take offense.

When leaving the auditorium, he felt mortified at what had happened and apologized sincerely for his actions.
