Tragic reports have confirmed that the final three victims of the Tahoe Avalanche tragedy have finally been recovered and the news been delivered to mourning family members.
Nine backcountry skiers who got buried in a powerful avalanche in the Castle Peak area of Tahoe National Forest on February 17 were recovered and identified by officials in the Nevada County Sheriff's Department.

Among the dead were three professional guides from Blackbird Mountain Guides: Andrew, Nicole, and Michael. The other six victims were experienced skiers and friends, many described them as mothers and outdoor enthusiasts.

Six other members of the party survived after being buried, but one after they were found and rescued. The Sheriff's Department was seen expressing deep sorrow for the losses and emphasized the impact this has had on families and the entire outdoor community. The matter is still under investigation.
