A massive and very bizarre storm has left New Zealand's lower North Island battered.
The poor weather conditions caused widespread disruptions and massive power outages as well as travel chaos.
{img}Wind gusts were seen reaching 193km/h with plenty of heavy rainfall, toppled trees, flooded streets, and damaged homes.
This left nearly 30,000 properties without any kind of electricity, including roughly 10,000 in Wellington, the country's capital.
{img}Emergency services were seen responding to hundreds of calls that residents made regarding damage to property and very unsafe conditions.
The storm also severely impacted transportation. Flights in and out of Wellington were also delayed and canceled at the same time. Air New Zealand chose to suspend its operations at regional airports, including Napier and Palmerston North.
