Driver Dies After Falling 500 Feet Into Ocean from Big Sur's Hurricane Point

Tragic reports are speaking about the death of a driver who passed away when his vehicle went off the road and plunged about 500 feet down a cliff into the rocky terrain near the Pacific Ocean at Hurricane Point.

This arose alongside Highway 1 in Big Sur, California. The crash happened at about 4:22 pm when the car veered off the scenic coastal roadway, with several 911 callers reporting that it had fallen off the cliff.

Emergency responders were seen arriving at the scene, as well as the California Highway Patrol, who worked under very difficult conditions.

This was marked by strong winds and rugged terrain to reach the scene.

They managed to locate the vehicle and found one of the occupants inside. Sadly, he was pronounced dead at the site. Recovery efforts continued for a few hours into the evening, and the victim was later retrieved around 8:45 pm by rescue crews. The deceased was identified as 28-year-old Aaron Jacob Carbajal of Salinas.
