Donald Trump Says He Will Only Accept ‘Honest’ Midterm Results After Calling for Republicans to ‘Nationalize’ Elections

President Trump recently raised eyebrows during a recent interview where he shared that he would only accept the results of the upcoming 2026 US midterm elections if he personally believes the elections are honest.

When asked if he would trust the result if Republicans lost control of Congress, he replied by stating that it would only happen if he deemed them legitimate.

This marks a conditional stance instead of an unconditional pledge to respect certified results.

His remarks come shortly after he suggested the Republicans take over or nationalize elections in certain areas alleged to be corrupt. But he later denied using the exact work nationalize while speaking to NBC Nightly News.

Trump cited cities like Detroit, Philadelphia, and Atlanta as examples of locations with corrupt elections, despite offering no proof to validate those claims.
