The incident prompted a large-scale rescue operation, and an evacuation was also carried out. Weeks of relentless rain overwhelmed the rivers and drainage systems across the board, also leaving many homes submerged.

This led to the washing away of infrastructure and the displacement of thousands of residents across the board. Authorities were seen issuing a warning about continued rainfall that might make the situation worse as weather reports continue to issue alerts for heavy rain.
