Venezuela's leader, Nicolas Maduro, has declared himself innocent and a good man, adding that he's still the president of his nation
The news comes as he pleaded not guilty in a US courtroom in regards to charges linked to federal drug trafficking.
{img}The interim Venezuelan leader called for a balanced and respectful relationship with the United States during the transition of power, as President Trump insisted that America would be keeping a close eye on the nation.
The US President has further issued threats against Venezuela as well as Colombia's president, Gustavo Petro. The latter dismissed the threats as illegal. At the same time, Trump also warned Mexico that it must get its act together.
{img}The US Security Council called for an emergency meeting to discuss the American raids in Venezuela, which the UN chief, Antonio Guterres, described as a very dangerous precedent.
Maduro and his wife were abducted by US forces and taken to New York in a military operation that saw large-scale strikes on different locations in the country.
