Young Couple, Ages 17 and 18, Die in 'Horrific' Car Crash While Traveling for Thanksgiving

A young duo was recently killed in a horrifying car crash while they were traveling for Thanksgiving. 

18-year-old Leo Shepherd and 17-year-old Anneka Wilson passed away on November 29 after they were struck head-on by another car that was allegedly driving in the wrong direction on Interstate 15, as per a new press release from the Utah Department of Public Safety.

Fox 13 shared how Jimenez happened to be driving with a learner’s permit during the incident. He’s now facing charges of automobile homicide, driving under the influence, and wrong manner driving, as well as violation of his learner’s permit. 

Court documents that were shared spoke about how the victim did not feel safe driving at that moment in time. As per Utah Highway Patrol Lieutenant Brian Peterson, the interstate lanes near this crash site were closed for a few hours.

Speaking in regards to the severity of the collision, it was shared by state troopers that they’ve seen some pretty bad incidents in their lives, but this one certainly takes the cake when it comes to horrific. They personally called it a nightmare of a disaster and sent out condolences to all those loved ones of the victims involved.
