9-Year-Old Girl Dies While Doing the Blackout Social Media Challenge. Now Her Parents Are Warning ‘It’s Not a Game’

Two parents from Texas are rolling out a new warning after the death of their nine-year-old daughter, who passed away from taking part in a viral social media trend.

Curtis and Wendi Blackwell's daughter, JackLynn, died on February 3, after she took part in the ongoing blackout or choking challenge.

This particular event dangerously dares participants to hold their breath until they pass out from a lack of oxygen.

Curtis shared more about how his daughter shared the stunt with her grandmother first, which featured someone else doing the challenge. She was scolded and told never to do something like that.

While the dad tried to do everything to save her, including CPR. It was just too late. When first responders arrived, they tried to save her, but she had already died.
