The family of Eric Dane is not happy about how he was not among the late Hollywood luminaries honored on Sunday night during the Oscars 'In Memoriam' segment, but they do understand why.
Many took to social media to slam the academy, but were made to realize two things: First, he was more related to the world of TV than film, and secondly, he died this year, and therefore, he couldn't be featured in the segment of the show.
{img}Other celebs like Caroline O'Hara and James Van Der Beek were also not featured for this same reason, leading to another major outcry from fans.
A source that was close to Rebecca Gayheart mentioned how the family is sad, but they totally realize that this was just not a good year for the industry with so many losses.
{img}"There is just not enough airtime to include everyone, but they did point out how all the late stars were honored online by fans!"- an insider revealed.
Now, the late star will be getting a public memorial to honor his achievements from fans.
