Ex-University of Kentucky cheerleader Laken Snelling whose newborn was found dead in trash bag indicted for manslaughter, autopsy shows baby was born alive

An arrest warrant has been rolled out for Laken Snelling, who is the ex-University of Kentucky student whose baby was found dead inside her own closet.

Snelling was indicted by a grand jury recently, who shared her count of first-degree manslaughter. During her arrest, she was also hit with another count of abuse of a corpse, one count of tampering, and a misdemeanor count linked to hiding the death of an infant.

The Lexington Police Department mentioned during a press release how the suspect was identified after the medical examiner handling the case proved that the baby was born alive and passed away from asphyxia.

Local media outlets shared more on how the arrest warrant has now been issued for Snelling, who has remained under house arrest at her father's residence in Tennessee since last year.
