Seoul’s “Slow-and-Easy Hangang Triathlon Festival” Returns This June with Running, Cycling and Swimming for Everyone

The Hangang Triathlon Festival — known in Korean as 쉬엄쉬엄 한강 3종 축제 — is returning this summer, offering residents and visitors a unique opportunity to experience three popular sports in one relaxed event along the Han River. According to an official announcement shared by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, participant registration opens on March 31 at 2:00 p.m. on a first-come, first-served basis.

The festival will take place from June 5 to June 7, 2026, across areas surrounding Ttukseom Hangang Park and Jamsil Hangang Park, two of the most popular riverside recreation spaces in Seoul. Designed as a participation-focused sports experience rather than a competitive race, the event encourages people of all fitness levels to join at their own pace.

Participants can choose from three course levels depending on their comfort and experience. The beginner course includes a 5-kilometer run, a 10-kilometer cycling segment and a 300-meter swim. The intermediate course, newly introduced this year based on feedback from previous participants, consists of a 7-kilometer run, a 15-kilometer cycling segment and a 500-meter swim. Meanwhile, the advanced course offers a 10-kilometer run, a 20-kilometer cycling route and a 1-kilometer swim.

Unlike traditional triathlon competitions that focus heavily on timing and rankings, this festival emphasizes enjoyment and accessibility. According to the city’s announcement, the program allows both beginners and experienced hobby athletes to participate without pressure, making it one of Seoul’s most approachable outdoor sports festivals.

Registration is available through Naver Reservation, while international tourists and foreign residents can purchase participation passes through platforms such as Klook, Trazy and Alipay+. Because participation slots are limited, early registration is recommended.

By combining running, cycling and swimming along the scenic Han River, the festival continues to promote active lifestyles while offering a memorable summer experience in the heart of Seoul.
