Resale prices for BTS light sticks soar ahead of Gwanghwamun comeback concert

A $32 light stick is selling for $200. Some listings are gone within 30 minutes of being posted. The BTS comeback is three days away and the secondhand market is not handling it calmly.

The Army Bomb, BTS' official light stick, has become one of the most searched and traded items on Korean resale platforms ahead of the group's March 21 concert at Gwanghwamun Square. The fourth version of the Army Bomb, released in February 2026, retails at 49,000 won on Weverse Shop. On secondhand platform Bunjang, it is being listed anywhere between 100,000 and 200,000 won, with some transactions reaching 300,000 won. That is roughly five times the original retail price.

According to Bunjang data, searches for "BTS light stick" jumped 438 percent compared to the previous month and 1,764 percent year-on-year. Transaction value for light sticks on competitor platform Kream surged 513 percent in just one week between March 10 and March 17. The latest Army Bomb sold out within minutes on each of the two occasions it was made available through Weverse Shop since its release. Overseas demand is building too, with similar listings appearing on Japan-based resale platform Mercari.

The Army Bomb has been part of BTS concert culture since the group's early years, but it has grown into something considerably more than a cheering tool. The fourth version introduced nine different color options and a color-shaking mode that changes the light as the stick moves. It also syncs via Bluetooth with concert production systems, meaning the light sticks in the audience can be integrated directly into the show itself. Owning one has become as much about participating in the full concert experience as about showing up with the right merchandise.

This is also the first Army Bomb released in six years, which makes the demand for older versions equally notable. Bunjang's data shows fans searching for discontinued editions, not just the latest one. For Army members who have been waiting through the group's military enlistment period, the light stick carries a weight that goes beyond the object.

BTS releases "Arirang" on March 20 at 1 p.m. The concert follows the next evening at 8 p.m. at Gwanghwamun Square, with Netflix streaming it live in over 190 countries. If you are still looking for an Army Bomb and have not secured one, the resale market suggests you will need to move quickly.
