Everything Seoul has lined up for BTS fans arriving for the March 21 concert

The concert is one night. Seoul is making sure the visit feels like a lot more than that.

The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced a month-long programme of citywide events tied to BTS' comeback, designed to give the hundreds of thousands of fans descending on the city something to do before, during and well after March 21.

Starting Friday, the day the album "Arirang" drops, 15 city landmarks including Sebitseom and Cheonggye Stream will be lit in red, the colour associated with the new album's promotions. Welcome banners will go up along Sejong-daero near the Gwanghwamun venue. Ten media facades across the city will display "welcome ARMY" messages. Major tourist spots and traditional marketplaces will show welcome phrases in seven languages: English, Chinese, Japanese, Vietnamese, Indonesian, Thai and Korean.

On Saturday and Sunday, the Banpo Bridge Moonlight Rainbow Fountain in southern Seoul will stage a BTS-themed nighttime show set to the group's music, combining LED lighting with a water display stretching more than a kilometre along the Han River.

From April 6 to 19, Cheonggye Stream gets a dedicated BTS walking zone. A 500-metre stretch between Ogan Bridge and Beodeul Bridge becomes the "Arirang Light Walk," using BTS-themed symbols to light the path. Dongdaemun Design Plaza runs a music light show from April 6 to 12 as well. The 2026 Seoul Spring Festival along the Han River runs from April 10 to May 5, with laser and fireworks shows, drone displays, and hands-on experiences for visitors staying in the city beyond the concert weekend.

On concert day itself, the logistical scale is significant. About 6,500 police officers will be deployed across riot, traffic, crime and special forces units, along with 5,400 pieces of equipment including high-altitude surveillance vehicles. The entire Gwanghwamun area will be divided into controlled zones with 31 entry gates. Six buildings directly facing the venue are being asked to close their main entrances. Twenty-five others have been asked to block rooftop and upper-floor access.

Subway trains will skip City Hall Stations on Lines 1 and 2, Gyeongbokgung Station on Line 3 and Gwanghwamun Station on Line 5 during peak concert hours. Some bus routes and public bike docks in the area will also be suspended or rerouted.

For fans who want to explore the city's BTS history, the city government is developing guided walking tours tracing music video filming sites and entertainment agency buildings, available through the VisitSeoul website and official social media channels.
