Candace Owens drops ‘Bride of Charlie’ trailer about Erika Kirk — and draws immediate backlash

Candace Owens has given rise to massive criticism and backlash for sharing a trailer for her upcoming investigative series, which is titled: 'Bride of Charlie!'

The new series is said to focus on Erika Kirk, who is the widow of slain activist from MAGA, Charlie Kirk. With his death taking place just last year, she's said to present an inquiry into the events that led to Charlie's death and Erika's actions since assuming the leadership stance of Turning Point USA.

Shortly after this trailer dropped, the entire matter gave rise to an intense debate across social media.

This is especially true amongst different conservatives who felt that this project was insensitive and so personal so soon after such a major tragedy. Critics, including some leading right-wing commentators condemed Owens for what they described as exploiting a grieving widow for provocative content.

Some people used all kinds of harsh language to describe Owen's approach, arguing that investigating someone's private life in this regard crosses all sorts of ethical lines.

Others took her side, saying scrutiny of public figures and their decisions is needed for transparency, even if they've been through trauma. And if handled in the right manner, it's all very valid.
