Team USA's figure skating champion, Alysa Liu, has claimed two gold medals at this year's Winter Olympic Games.
However, the young athlete was forced to give back one of her medals after it seemingly broke and required a replacement.

She went viral for her amazing performance and smooth skating skills that left audiences in awe, both at home and those watching live. She managed to secure victory in the Team Event before attaining the women's individual title, which makes it America's first in nearly two decades.
As she celebrated the major victory with a bang, which happened to be one of her two triumphs, her medal got detached from the ribbon instantly.
{img}She was not the only star to experience their prize breaking as others like American skier Breezy Johnson also reported how the medals were snapping off the ribbons, causing a major concern for officials. The matter is currently being investigated, and athletes were reassured that they would soon be getting their prizes back.
