Cartel havoc from druglord’s death leaves 73 dead after his ‘lover’ was tracked by spies as chaos hits Mexico streets

A widespread violence was recently seen erupting in Mexico after security forces took the lives of Nemesio El Mencho, who was a powerful leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

The incident arose during a military operation in Jalisco state. His death triggered immediate retaliation by cartel members across at least 20 different states in Mexico.

Armed groups were seen setting fire to buses, cars, and trucks to give rise to some serious roadblocks on major highways. This included cities such as Guadalajara and the resort town of Puerto Vallarta, which sent out thick smoke into the sky and disrupted daily life. The attacks also ended up paralyzing the whole transport system, forcing airports to cancel their flights, and that led to authorities suspending bus and rail services, amid safety concerns.

The chaos included armed clashes with Mexico's National Guard as well as the army, with several security personnel and cartel fighters killed in this unrest.
