After actor Eric Dane's sudden death at the age of 53, his friends were quick to set up a GoFundMe account in his name.
This was designed to support his two young daughters, Billlie and Georgia, with a goal that was initially set at $250,000. Later, it was adjusted to $500,000 as donations continued to pour in. The campaign raised a huge sum of funds within just hours of its launch, attracting contributions from industry figures including Euphoria creator Sam Levinson and model Hailey Bieber.

After the review, the campaign was verified, and Dane's estranged wife, Rebecca Gayheart, was added as the official beneficiary to assist in ensuring the daughters are supported at all times.

While some people did praise the outpouring of support and sympathy for Dane's family, others slammed the thought that a GoFundMe was begun for a celebrity. Furthermore, they went on to question why someone perceived as wealthy would need public donations. Somewent as far as to demand transparency as justification for the money.
