A 21-year-old woman from Brick in New Jersey named Brianna Mohr has passed away tragically in this freezing weather.
Sources from local media outlets spoke about how she died on Mount Marcy, which is the tallest peak in New York State in the Adirondacks. She was believed to be hiking alone with her pet dog on February 12, 2026, during these very cold winter weather conditions, when she ended up slipping off the trail near the summit.

After nearly six hours, a ranger on foot located her near the summit at 9 pm in the night. However, it was just too late, and she had already passed away from hypothermia.
