Adrian Aviles, who was the husband of Regina Santos Aviles, has broken his silence for the first time regarding a controversy that was related to his wife's death and alleged relationship with Texan Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales.
Regina was a senior district staffer who passed away by self-immolation in September of 2025. In recent times, text messages were seen surfacing in which Regina admitted to having an affair with her boss, Gonzales, while the two of them were still married to other people.

The message was shared with a colleague and later provided to a local publishing giant, suggesting how their relationship was known to some people in the office.
After Regina's husband found those texts in the middle of 2024, he says she became more isolated at work and started to sideline herself professionally. Above all, her mental health took a plunge for the worse.

Aviles accuses Gonzales of abusing his power and mishandling the whole matter, stating how he wants his wife's reputation defended and clarity for their young child.
