A devastating fire was seen tearing through a five-storey apartment block in Manlleu, which is a town in Catalonia in northeastern Spain.
The tragic incident reportedly took place in northeastern Spain, during the late hours of Monday evening.

The fire first started in a storage room on the top floor of the building, where a group of young individuals had gathered.
For reasons that are yet to be disclosed, those inside the cramped attic-like space were not able to escape and soon got stuck as thick smoke and flames filled that area. Emergency services were seen rushing to the scene shortly after the alarm was raised.

By the time the firefighters reached the storage room, the situation had gone from bad to worse and was declared to be catastrophic.
Five young individuals passed away, and reports spoke about how they were all under the age of 18. None of them lived in the apartment building itself. Some of the victims were believed to be students of a secondary school.
