Former US President Barack Obama has publicly replied to a very controversial video that was shared by Donald Trump's social media account earlier this month.
The video briefly displayed the former president and his wife, Michelle Obama, with their faces superimposed onto the bodies of apes.

The post was said to be a part of a longer video that promoted unfounded claims about the 2020 election and was soon deleted after drawing massive backlash. The former US President was seen speaking about this video during an interview on a popular political podcast.
{img}He framed it as a symptom of a bigger decline in political discourse. He then described the current climate on social media and in politics as a kind of clown show and mentioned how respect and dignity were not something that everyone had or could give, referencing MAGA.
The matter has sparked massive condemnation from bipartisan individuals, including some members of Trump's own Republican Party. This was even after the post was removed, and has now continued to make the rounds on social media.
